Gay Short Films : 131Just Not Naked Enough (USA)Alex and David are married but living in a state of quiet separation. On the morning of their shared birthday, they meet again at the Los Angeles home they once occupied together. What begins as a polite conversation by the pool gradually exposes the deep fractures in their marriage, including professional imbalance, depression, sexual estrangement, and unresolved betrayal. The rising tension culminates in the discovery of a devastating detail—a stranger’s watch found by their bed—which forces them to face the reality of infidelity and their growing emotional distance. Throughout this single morning, the couple faces a choice: let pride and resentment drive them apart, or become emotionally “naked enough” to fight for their relationship.

Gay Short Films : 131IUS Del Tiempo (Spain) [IUS of Time]A young photography student travels to a remote village in northern Spain to reconnect with his roots, where he meets Xuan, an aging cheesemaker burdened by long‑standing rumors regarding his sexuality. As Luca’s camera captures Xuan’s craftsmanship, an unexpected and quiet connection develops between the two men, uncovering unspoken histories, old wounds, and the prejudices of Xuan’s past. This gentle bond begins to form, slowly challenging a lifetime of silence, shame, and gossip.

Gay Short Films : 131Yr Alwad (UK/Wales) [The Call]Have you ever felt unsafe while walking down a street at night? For many in the LGBTQIA+ community, this is a familiar and sad reality. While speaking on the phone with his mother (Emma), Dylan realizes that former classmates are currently following and taunting him. The Call builds powerful tension by utilizing the helplessness of being physically distant from a loved one alongside the very real fear of queer bashing.

Gay Short Films : 131Bros Before (2022)Two trans bros, Billy and Elijah, happen to enjoy jerking off together in a straight way. While they have a good time, the situation is complicated by Elijah’s blurred lines between a platonic and romantic connection. Everything shifts when Billy begins dating Grace, forcing Elijah to confront both his burgeoning homosexuality and his feelings for Billy.

Gay Short Films : 131Father of the Bride (UK)After being sexually advanced in the hotel bathroom by the Father of the Bride—a man everyone adores—the Best Man tries to maintain his composure and deliver his wedding speech for his brother. The power dynamics present even in such a joyous wedding setting expose our titular Father of the Bride as the very definition of male privilege: a man who is emboldened and untouchable in his own world. Meanwhile, the Best Man’s reaction to the encounter shows how easily those vulnerable to power abuses can find themselves isolated among familiar faces, particularly when the stakes of the relationship are at their peak.

Gay Short Films : 131Before (USA)As a young gay couple on the verge of surrogating their first child, Chris and Eric engage in a late-night conversation regarding the future and the consequences of leaving their “before” behind. The film acts as an emotional battleground; one partner is spiraling over things he wants to do before becoming a father, while the other faces mounting job insecurities.

Gay Short Films : 131Forget Me Not (Hungary)After a chance meeting at lake Balaton, Alex and Domi share a night of laughter, secrets, and romantic sparks that they won’t soon forget. When Alex travels back to Hungary months later, he hopes to advance his long distance relationship with Domi, only to discover that managing love amidst personal insecurities and cultural divides is a bittersweet endeavor. While I think the film had the potential to dive deeper into those cultural differences, it ultimately felt very average.

Gay Short Films : 131Alhambra – Love Until Death Do Us Part (USA)This short film is fully AI generated. A king, torn between his people and his beloved, must face an agonizing and irreversible choice. At the same time, his loyal general reaches a crossroads: will he prioritize his own status, royal power, or the forbidden love he keeps silent? Can state responsibilities and rigid traditions be overcome by true love? While the story is good and the visuals are stunning, the fact that it is AI generated is very obvious, making it quite difficult to connect emotionally. Still, AI provides us with great visuals, nice direction, and two extremely good looking AI men.

Gay Short Films : 131El Callejón de los Milagros (Mexico) [Midaq Alley]Set in and around the eponymous alley in Mexico City, this 1995 Mexican film examines the lives and relationships of its residents. I watched the segment structured among the 4 segments that features a gay angle. Don Ru, a middle aged man and owner of the Local Hangout cantina, has been married for thirty-odd years and is the father of three children, yet he is a homosexual. He starts an affair with a man from a clothing store who is much younger, causing his wife humiliation and provoking the rage of his hotheaded son Chava. He makes no effort to hide the affair, and it becomes the talk of almost everyone until the day Chava loses him, kills the young lover, and flees to US.

Gay Short Films : 131Back Room (Spain)The camera stalks men through a Barcelona gay club’s back room on a characteristically crowded Saturday night, granting us access to their inner thoughts via voice overs. It feels quite grungy and painfully accurate, showcasing every trope imaginable: the hunk who makes do, the kid being brutally used who lacks the assertiveness to refuse the horrors mauling him, and the disdain for fems, olds, and uglies. While Grindr might have altered the landscape, much of this back room cruising persists. Even as a short from 1999, I find it remains as relevant today.

Gay Short Films : 131Magid/Zafar (UK)This is a story about Pakistani boys immigrants. Magid works in a restaurant where chaos ensues because everyone around him is excited about his upcoming wedding. We are introduced to Zafar—initially through texts and later in person when he arrives at the restaurant—and it turns out they are lovers, though Zafar was unaware of the wedding. By choosing the social safety net and conformity of an arranged marriage, Magid has compromised their relationship. The film’s first half is full of frantic Chao, but the second half shifts dramatically toward a stillness that allows the two men to finally talk in silence like two mature people. Ultimately, the tension in their relationship finds resolution in a supremely passionate and erotic kiss. Beautiful film.

Gay Short Films : 131A Perdição de Lázaro (Brazil) [Lazaro’s Temptation]Lázaro spends a lot of time at the gym without seeing the expected results… until he signs up for the premium plan one day. Tempted by the hot muscle surrounding him, he is constantly thinking of them. Featuring an all black queer cast, this film explores gym cult, friendships, surveillance, and desirability. At one point, it shifts into a full trip, abandoning a traditional narrative. I am not sure what the point of the film was. Between the constant chatter with his colleague and the sudden moment where no one recognized him!! Is the message to be yourself? Or to make the change you want to be?

Gay Short Films : 131I’m Gonna Kill You (2025)In a future where humanity is on the brink of extinction, survivors are organized into distinct colonies. Within this setting, we encounter three gay couples who are not pressured to procreate, left with nothing but the freedom to enjoy life. Cal and Spector are lovers whose “twisted games” intensify as members of the colony start to vanish. It is revealed that One of them is responsible for killing all other gays because he refuses to let his partner sleep with anyone else. The short explores the concept of a gay separatist utopia, only to question if such a community can endure the darkness held within its own people. A bit weird for me!

Gay Short Films : 131Pakka (Netherlands)Bonding over cricket and their chosen family, four gay Indian friends live in the Netherlands. Their friendship faces a trial when Kathir agrees to an arranged marriage to maintain connections back home, forcing him to choose between his loyalty and his love. This was a surprisingly beautiful film about navigating one’s culture alongside their sexuality. The chemistry of four friends is amazing a die story is told with such tenderness and warmth. Rather than providing the conclusion we expect, it presents a reality that most india gay men might be able to relate with. Beautiful film!

Gay Short Films : 1310004NGEL (Canada)Angel, a nude dancer, turns to the web as a new stage to support his mother in Mexico. While the premise is familiar, the difference here lies in the depiction of a lonely young man, ,hustling every single minute to support his family by doing naked dancing, nude webcam shows an trying to use his body and the repeated begging for tokens Respect to people who hustle to make money and carry on living. You may judge such folks but it I never easy. Through the lens of filial devotion, the film explores the online commodification of the body and modern queer survival.

Gay Short Films : 131Callback (USA)explores how personal dissatisfaction can seep into a relationship and influence your decision-making. When one member of a gay couple receives an acting job callback, it triggers a reckoning. The ensuing massive fight escalates throughout the night, posing the question: do you offer your partner the same support they give you, or do you spiral? It serves as a fascinating case study regarding the competitive dynamics present in same-sex couples.

Gay Short Films : 131Yellow Bucket (UK)Conor is an out and proud gay teenager whose parents have always been relaxed and supportive of his sexuality. However, when a TV report claims to have identified the exact cause and timing of homosexuality, Conor is left with troubling questions. He wonders if his parents would have steered him toward a straight life had they known this when he was six years old. He also questions if they might engineer his younger brother’s birthday party to ensure he turns out straight, and whether he would even want his brother to be gay. It is a very interesting concept.

Gay Short Films : 131Something Still (USA)A heartbroken man goes back to the home he once shared with his ex-boyfriend, leading the former lovers to confront the emotional wreckage of their breakup. As old memories resurface, they trace the fallout back to a casual, boundaries-blurring threesome that created deep emotional complications. One of them had suggested the threesome, unaware that in the future, it would be this third person and his boyfriend who would grow too close, ultimately causing the demise of their relationship.

Gay Short Films : 131Matches (USA)This horror-comedy offers a very interesting look at modern day gay dating culture. After a host invites people to a party, everyone quickly discovers they have only ever met him online and are meeting him for the first time in real life. He explains that he felt this would be a better alternative to the usual online grind. As he begins eliminating guests one by one, the situation turns into a horror show where they all keep getting killed. The final two survivors are two guys who became friends during the party itself. Featuring a twist that you do not see coming, I think this was quite innovative, scary yet funny.

Gay Short Films : 131Cherry (Canada)In this short coming-of-age drama, high school sophomores Charlie and Emmett bond over adolescent sexual insecurity. They are waiting in an adjoining motel room while their trans classmate has decided to hook up with an older guy to lose their virginity. Upon coming out, they discuss how they expected all the great bells and whistles, but instead, they dont feel anything at all different.

Gay Short Films : 131Picking Crew (New Zealand)This is a subtle and poignant exploration of Pasifika masculinity and its queer-tinged boundaries. When a new guy joins the apple picking crew, he mostly hangs out with one guy who is different. While the others are mostly married and act in a brash, almost bully like manner, it is only through eye contacts and conversations that they realize they have something in common.
