By the time the finale starts piling on twists, the show has already made its priorities unmistakable: sex comes first, and almost everything else feels like an afterthought. The last two episodes bring back Peach Lover, put Po and Sasom on the verge of breaking up, and introduce an evil father figure with little warning. None of these turns carries much weight. The series has spent too long functioning as an oversexed BL with scarcely a plot beneath it.
That imbalance is clear from the start. Po, a freelance book-cover designer who was uncertain about his sexuality when he was younger, became interested in porn through videos by Peach Lover, a masked performer who posts sex tapes online. When Peach Lover announces that his previous partner is no longer available and he needs a new submissive for future videos, Po applies and gets the part. During their chemistry test, the mask comes off: Peach Lover is Sasom, a well-known drama actor who makes sex tapes as a hobby. The two begin talking beyond the shoot, and their sexual connection soon becomes a relationship. That arc is more or less over within the first two episodes.
After that, the show cycles through more sex, growing affection and conversations about the insecurities each man carries, with late-arriving drama added on top. A parallel romance involves Po’s best friend and Sasom’s devoted bodyguard, who has known about Sasom’s secret hobby all along. These threads never change the basic experience: nearly every episode is packed with explicit scenes, and even ordinary moments become seductions. Sasom can be eating breakfast and Po will suddenly approach him to initiate sex.
The leads commit to that material without visible hesitation, and their chemistry is the one thing the series manages to make convincing. What begins as awkward tension develops into something more emotionally intense. But the constant thrusting, groping and even butt-cheek licking leave little room for anything else. The show is rough in its writing, acting and direction, and its supposed story never earns the twists it introduces.
I can’t justify sitting through the full seven hours. I got through it by accepting early that it was garbage and speeding it up, finishing in less than half the runtime. It is hard to understand why anyone approved ten episodes running almost an hour apiece; the people behind it seem to have been living in another universe. This is a guilty pleasure built almost entirely from raunch, and a bad series from beginning to end. (1/10)
