Interminable (Thai Series)

Relying heavily on the reincarnation trope, this Thai BL features all the standard elements: a love story spanning multiple lifetimes, a scheming female villain, and a sprawling mansion that feels like a set I have seen in at least ten other shows. As a viewer, the direction of the story is quite predictable. However, the execution remains solid, the leads possess genuine chemistry, and the mystery is sufficient to maintain interest. My main complaint is that the plot drags through far too many segments. Given that it consists of twelve episodes, each lasting over fifty minutes, it requires a significant time investment. The narrative jumps between two timelines, set in the early 1900s and the mid 1900s, where nearly the entire cast from a past life is reborn into comparable roles and relationships in the present. In the current day, Kaewta is living with his mom and struggling with financial issues when two men unexpectedly arrive, claiming he is a distant relative of Khun Yai and has inherited a massive house. He moves in, feeling confused but willing to go along with the situation, only to slowly sense a presence in the house—something he can feel and occasionally glimpse, even if he can't be certain it is real. This presence is revealed to be Khun Yai's ghost. Through various conversations and scattered flashbacks, we discover that Kaewta and Khun Yai were lovers in a past life, but Kaewta has zero memory of those events, and an unresolved issue from that era is preventing Khun Yai's spirit from moving on. Everyone…

Burnout Syndrome (Thai Series)

Living up to its title, the series portrays burnout not as a single dramatic breakdown, but as a gradual, draining exhaustion that silently erodes self-perception and personal relationships, which lends the characters a sense of genuine realism. The pacing is intentionally slow, reflecting a world where every character is complex, flawed, and full of contradictions. By utilizing a dysfunctional boss and employee dynamic, the show manages to weave in insightful social commentary regarding mental health struggles, toxic work culture, and the way money dictates our lives regardless of our desires. Naturally, a love triangle is also included. This series consists of ten episodes, with each running approximately 45-55 minutes. At twenty eight, Jira is broke and struggling to make it as a painter, teetering on the edge of a total breakdown without a steady job or any art sales. His best friend Ing tries to help however she can, providing money and finding him odd jobs. She eventually convinces him to visit the Burnout Bar, a place that served as a therapy space for her during a previous period of work stress, where strangers connect and open up. It is there that he meets Pheem, a man who co-founded an IT company with a close friend, though their relationship has recently become tense. A clear flirtation develops between them, and they agree to keep in touch as the night ends, with something obviously sparking. When Ing later secures a gig for Jira as a paid dinner companion for a wealthy client, he accepts out of a desperate need for cash,…

Melody Of Secrets (Thai Series)

I am not even sure where to start with this one. While it did deliver on being a solid BL centered on a murder mystery, the logic eventually falls apart entirely. By the time the big reveals happen, you are left wondering "what?"—not out of shock, but because the writing is just that dumb. The most frustrating element involves the main character, who supposedly suffers from memory loss and can only recall the last ten years of his life; if that is the case, it makes no sense that he requires a stranger to mail him a diary to jog his memory about the past. The entire plot felt far too random. Across ten episodes of about fifty minutes each, the show fails to connect its own premise. Even the title, which refers to a specific melody that both hypnotizes and triggers memories for Botpleng, ends up having no actual relevance. The story follows Botpleng, a crime journalist dealing with a mother in a coma and a memory that only spans the last decade. His life shifts when he receives a stranger's diary containing old entries from a period when he was apparently in love with Tankhun. Returning to his hometown, Botpleng finds himself entangled in a double murder case, which leads to his meeting with Tankhun. Even though Botpleng has no memory of him, he continues reading the diary and gradually begins to grow close to the man. While Tankhun serves as an advisor on the murder investigation, he is secretly pursuing his own agenda: investigating the mysterious death…

Yesterday (Thai Series)

My feelings on this one are quite conflicted. While the initial mind games and manipulation provide a strong start, the series eventually devolves into a repetitive, confusing slog that caused me to mentally check out. Furthermore, the BL angle feels like an afterthought when measured against the larger story the show is pursuing. Rather than delivering a standard romance, the narrative leans into much darker territory, constructing relationships centered on power dynamics, trauma, and significant emotional imbalance. While I can see this concept succeeding if a creator fully committed to it as a proper drama, my personal patience simply ran out. With each episode lasting around seventy minutes and a total of ten episodes, it is a lot to ask of any viewer. The story centers on two main characters, Vier and Kelvin. As the polished and calculating heir to the VPG group, Vier is a confident man accustomed to winning. Kelvin is his complete opposite: an ignored son from a rival family who must constantly outmaneuver his own relatives just to survive, living under a father who offers no love and an older half brother who treats him like hired help. Rather than just developing feelings for Vier, Kelvin studies and becomes fixated on him, predicting his moves before eventually pulling him into his web. It is clear early on that Kelvin has something planned. The entire story is carried by the underlying tension of the fact that neither man is truly what he seems. The show moves between the present and a year earlier, tracing how Kelvin and…

Love You Teacher (Thai Series)

I have to admit, the show's premise is so wild that I doubt you've ever encountered anything quite like it. It is a massive gamble for any writers' room to tackle a concept this unconventional. Fortunately, the creators opted for a light tone, allowing the audience to ignore the ridiculous setup and instead embrace the humor and cheerful chaos. The entire experience radiates warmth, positivity, and a ton of heart. While there are certainly plenty of things you could pick apart, they are easy enough to overlook. It runs 10 episodes, each landing 40-45 minutes. Both Pobmek and Solar work as elementary school teachers in a gay relationship. Through various flashbacks, we see that while teaching was always Solar's dream, Pommel originally planned to go into accounting; however, his deep love for Solar led him to switch career paths just so they could both be teachers. A clear divide exists in their professional lives: Solar is a natural who clearly loves the job and is a total hit with the students, whereas Pommel can't get his classroom under control at all. Everything changes for Solar one day following a small accident. Pobmek notices the shift immediately, as his boyfriend simply isn't acting like himself. Solar begins insisting he is actually a seven year old kid named Sun, believing Pommel has kidnapped him and calling him uncle instead. They manage to get through the remainder of that day, but by the next morning, Solar wakes up back to normal as if nothing had occurred. Although Pobmek is relieved to have his…
